Bond Breaking Ritual

Purpose: To energetically sever ties between yourself and another person, freeing both parties from lingering attachment or influence. This type of cord-cutting spell can be used as a follow-up to other severing rituals to provide continued protection.

Ingredients:

• 1 Stone used for unbinding
  Select a stone that is used for unbinding, such as black obsidian.
• 1 Botanical used for unbinding
  Select one to three botanicals, such as mugwort or bay laurel, for unbinding. You can also use black salt.
• 1 Candle
  Use any color or shape you prefer for banishing and release, such as black or black to white.

Directions:

1. Ground and Protect:
   Hold the stone in your hand. Close your eyes and take several deep, calming breaths. Visualize a strong, protective barrier forming around you, shielding you from unwanted energies and emotional residue.

2. Light the Candle:
   Place the black candle on a fire-safe surface and light it. Focus on the flame and center your intention. When ready, recite the following incantation aloud three times:

   I burn away the ties that bind.
   Any ties to [name] now dissolve and unwind.
   May our paths diverge, setting both of us free.
   By my will, so mote it be.

3. Activate the Botanical(s):
   Sprinkle a pinch of herb or botanicals (or black salt) in a circle around the candle. As you do, visualize the herb’s energy slicing through any remaining energetic cords or emotional bindings.

4. Visualize the Separation:
   Hold the stone once more. Envision a dark void or misty space expanding between you and the other person, gently pushing you apart. See the ties unravel and disappear into the void.

5. Seal the Work:
   Place the stone beside the candle. Visualize it, forming a shield that blocks any future energetic entanglements. Let the candle burn down completely in a safe and undisturbed space.

6. Aftercare:
   Once the candle has fully extinguished, dispose of any remaining wax or herbs respectfully, preferably by burying or discarding them away from your home. Keep the stone with you or on your altar for at least one lunar cycle (about a month) to reinforce the separation. Every time you think of the other person, visualize the energy of your spell emanating from the stone and pushing the person’s energy away from you. After a month, you may cleanse and repurpose the stone for other magical work.
